PBLSAT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SES SIRIUS
PBLSat, specialists in Occasional Use satellite services, announced today a commitment to the brand new Sirius 4 satellite that will allow the company to further expand it’s portfolio of European ad-hoc satellite capacity.
Sirius 4, launched in November 2007, has a dynamic Europe wide footprint that complements PBLSat’s existing capacity on Eutelsat W2 and Atlantic Bird 1.
PBLSat CEO Nic Thorley comments that ‘’ Sirius 4 gives us an excellent opportunity to meet the growing demand for European ad-hoc satellite capacity and we are delighted that we have reached a partner agreement with SES Sirius.’’
PBLSat will market the satellite to its global client base for use in sports and news programming. The high powered transponders on Sirius 4 enable transmissions to be received with small antennas across Europe. This means that the capacity offers greater flexibility and, with a look angle of 5 degrees, it offers excellent possibilities for SNG uplinks. Sirius 4 will also assist PBLSat with the growing demand for HD capacity across Europe.
Daniel Cop, Regional Manager, Pan-Europe at SES Sirius believes that ‘’ Sirius 4 represents a perfect solution for European ad hoc transmissions. When we were considering re sell partners PBLSat’s experience in this market made them a clear choice.’’
