Latest News FAPL Case Study
PBLSat LTD

The international interest in UK Premier league football grows with every season. With such a large requirement for global distribution, the FAPL (Football Association Premier League) need to ensure that its distribution partner can routinely deliver a cost effective and robust solution.

PBLSat are providing the FAPL with a bespoke solution that meets their requirements on a weekly basis. Individual fibre feeds are delivered into our five channel multiplex situated at BT Tower. From here the multiplexed feed is distributed via fibre to two diverse UK teleports and uplinked to PBLSat capacity on Eutlesat W2. This dedicated capacity can provide up to six separate channels, or it can be configured in a variety of other combinations to offer increased flexibility.

The multiplexed feed is also uplinked to IS904 where multiple FAPL rights holders in Asia are able to access each match directly.

We can also deliver several channels from BT Tower to the US, utilising our transatlantic fibre connectivity. Our network extends to L.A where it can be accessed directly by U.S. rights holders. For Latin American distribution, the fibre transmission is delivered to Intelsat’s Atlanta teleport where it is uplinked to IS9.

PBLSat’s major event team manage all satellite and fibre bookings and provide a single point of contact to our client. Each week they organise and confirm all bookings and are, of course, available for any last minute changes or additions.

A schematic of PBLSat’s FAPL distribution path is attached. If you have a project that demands a bespoke solution from a global service provider, then PBLSat would enjoy speaking with you.
